Software We Use

Let’s Automate Everything!
Make your life and your employees’ lives easier. Software can give you back time. Time to work on other things in your business or time with your family.
There are so many software options out there, where do you start? Again, I’m not saying that this is the definitive list of software for hardscape companies, but I will tell you that I’ve been searching for the best software systems for 6+ years and these are the best in my opinion.
Here’s What We Use:
-
Online Scheduling
One of the biggest time savers, and it’s only $15/month. Let homeowners book design calls on your website. You pick the times that work for you and then they book into those times. Lots of other features.
-
Project Management
Monday.com is more than a project management software. It’s a CRM. It’s great for Job Costings. It’s great for project scheduling. It’s great for materials. You name it, it can do it. It’s 100% customizable.
-
Proposal Software
Amazing software for creating proposals. Fully branded. Fully customizable. Legally approved e-signatures. Tracks all customer engagement, so you get to see everytime they open the document.
-
Document Storage
I’m sure most of you know what Dropbox is, but if not, it’s where you can store all your documents online. This means you can access them from any computer, phone, or tablet.
-
Bookkeeping
Full service bookkeeping software. It’s the biggest and the best. Accountants use it. Tax experts know it. And you should to. All of your financial reporting can come from this software.
-
Website Software
Lots of options for customization and the best part is the backend which is super easy to edit. Reach out to me for a Squarespace website, I design them for a one-time fee.
-
Payroll Software
The #1 rated HR platform for payroll, benefits, and more. Easiest to use payroll provider I’ve found. Plus it has time and attendance for the crews. Crews can log in to projects. Plus a lot more features.
-
Email Marketing
Mailchimp is the #1 email marketing brand in the US. They have a simple interface and easy to use software. The best way to stay in touch with your clients on a monthly or bi-weekly basis.
-
Photo Editing Software
I use BeFunky for photo editing. It’s simple to use and makes for great photos for social media. Easy to take toys, hoses, and dead grass out of pictures. And it’s super cheap.
-
Video Communications
Loom is used by our sales team. It allows them to send emails that have videos embedded in them. Much better for explaining things to potential clients vs long emails.
-
Small Business 401k
Guideline is a simple and straightforward 401k platform. They are 10x cheaper than normal 401k’s and have no transaction fees. Easy platform to use.
-
Design Services
Fiverr is a great website where you can get just about anything done. You want a new logo? A flyer? Business cards? Video editing? Pretty much anything to do with marketing.
-
Pricing Calculator
This is a great little bit of software! It let’s you setup a calculator for your projects. Our clients and potential clients love it. Plus it’s free! What’s not to like?
-
Chase Rewards
We buy materials, gas, advertising, etc on the cards. We purchase $2.4M/year on it, so the cash back rewards are $40k/year! For things we were going to buy anyway.
-
Uvision 3D Software
The reason we use Uvision is that it’s the best value. You get the best software at the best price. There are better ones out there, but this one is the best bang for the buck.
